Assisted Living

Assisted living (AL) is the next step for many older adults from independent living. AL residents live in apartments and have social and activity opportunities, but require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, and medication management. Caregivers are on-site to provide support as needed.

Memory Care

Individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other cognitive decline conditions are typically monitored more closely in a specialized facility that caters to their unique needs. Memory Care units have secure doors to prevent wandering and staff that are trained to oversee all daily activities and provide customized care. Unlike assisted living, Memory Care facilities are specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals with cognitive decline.

Board & Care Homes

A Board and Care Home also called a Residential Care Home, is a converted house in a residential neighborhood that provides supportive care for seniors in a small group setting. These homes typically have 6 or fewer residents, though some can accommodate up to 20. They are licensed by the state and are subject to regular visits and inspections to ensure compliance with state regulations, such as in California.

Independent Living

Independent Living (IL) is a community for seniors 55+ who are able to live independently or require minimal care. They live in their own apartments but have access to services such as meals, housekeeping, and social activities. IL communities often provide transportation, fitness options, and social events. They are best suited for seniors who want to live in a group setting with independence and minimal medical needs.
